HI there!
I am currently sitting in a lovely cottage in Riof on the west coast of Lewis, with some of the Maclean project. I have been here for almost a week practicing for our gig at Hebcelt which was on Saturday night. It was our first gig and what an amazing time we had! You can see some of the songs we performed on the BBC i-Player
This has been my first trip to Lewis, and the weather and surroundings have been stunning. We were lucky enough to take a boat trip around the coast-line, going in and out of caves, spotting seals and catching lobsters for tea. Although its very cold, the sea is lovely and blue to swim in, and surrounded by white sand beaches. So yes, we’ve been working hard but playing hard too! I will be quite sad to leave, although looking forward to gigs in Glasgow and at Speyfest with Jenn Butterworth this week.
Tonight at 8pm I will be taking part in a live stream for Butterstone TV with Dougie Maclean and Ross Ainslie. You can find it here. (Butterstone TV is a subscription service). Dougie’s family are going to set up a studio here in Lewis for the stream so you can see where we have been all week!
It is my last day here, and the beach is calling so I will sign off for one last paddle!
Cheerio,
