well, for this week anyway!

This week I have been busy practicing  material for The Maclean Project, a new big band fronted by Dougie Maclean. We have our first gig next weekend at Hebcelt Festival and the rehearsals have been going really well. I’m really looking forward to my first trip to Lewis and letting people hear what we’ve been up to.

Last week I was teaching the singers and song-writers at Tinto Summer School. They were such a talented bunch, but I’d like to give a special mention to Eilidh and Maggie. They spent the whole week working on their own, new songs and sang them at the final concert. I still find performing my own songs quite daunting, so I was really chuffed that these two sang theirs. And they were both fab!

After Hebcelt I will be doing a Glasgow gig with Jenn before we head off to Speyfest for a weekend of gigs and sessioning. We have been working on some new material this week, and really looking forward to gigging it.

Anyway, its Saturday and the sun is still shining so I think that a trip to the park is in order.
