Hi folks!
Its been a busy week this week, mainly focusing on my Glasgow album launch which was on Thursday, ahead of the CD’s release on Monday. The whole album band and I performed ‘Breathe’ in its entirety to a lovely audience of friends, family and a few new faces who managed to pack out the ambient surroundings of Bar Gumbo. A huge thankyou to all that came along to support the launch, you made it such a memorable night and I felt really humbled by you all!
I was also spoiled by being able to perform with a great band who were; Jenn Butterworth (guitar and vox), James Lindsay (double bass), Adam Sutherland (fiddle), Nathon Jones (dobro), all putting their own mark on the music, and bringing energy in abundance!
Phew, enough gushing. The CD pre-orders are going steadily but surely and I hope all of you that have received your copies are enjoying them.
On Friday night Jenn Butterworth and I did a duo gig at Partick Folk Club to another lovely crowd, supported by brilliant German singer/songwriter Carla Feuerstein. We love playing folk clubs as not only are they usually friendly and intimate, but people sing along :-).
Just now I am preparing to head off to Tinto Summer School where I will be spending the next week teaching songwriting and singing.
I’ll leave you with a few photos of the launch, courtesy of Sean Purser and Bar Gumbo’s own photographer.
